Ways the Broncos together with their malleable quarterback could stop that Chiefs' rule.

NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary of the weekend matchups on various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , after last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period versus Denver, who play in London this Sunday.

However it proved good to observe how Denver's QB the rookie was able to have that deficit and then direct three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

Denver have the top defender in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and Denver won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing more than four defenders but they might position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended last season well and did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

New TE Evan Engram has excelled significantly and recent running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love how the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and maintains in favourable situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, but they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, and he's highly agile.

His assets include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as using different arm angles to make throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw that layered pass over the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently rush it eats up the clock and makes the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. It can be draining.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach likes that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. The coach can really develop him the way he desires to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a championship and now surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements the Broncos are experiencing on offence is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to hold their division. The key to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is the ground game, and this is precisely what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they meet since Denver {beat|def
