Trump Invites Relatives of Shot Military Personnel to White House
President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.
He added that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.
Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.
Gatherings across West Virginia have taken place in their remembrance.
White House Offer
The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president informed journalists. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”
Community Response
Mourners assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.
Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist law enforcement in the capital.
Honoring Beckstrom
“She was the kind of student that educators desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”
Memorial plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.
Legal Measures and Policy Changes

The tragedy prompted the administration to pause asylum processing and cease providing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.
Status of Andrew Wolfe
Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.
He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey said on television.
Attorney general the attorney general stated on a news show that she aimed to meet with his relatives.
Impact of the Fallen Soldier
Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with excellence, as stated by the state guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” he addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
