Tottenham Hotspur supporters who booed goalkeeper Vicario were told later "those individuals can't be true Tottenham fans" by boss Thomas Frank.

Spurs conceded two scores in the opening initial moments to fall 2-1 to Fulham, marking their 10th top-flight at home defeat of 2025.

But the main talking point was the visitors' second score when the keeper gave away the ball well outside his box.

The goalkeeper came out to handle a high pass and took the ball towards the touchline.

However, instead of booting it into touch, the Italy international turned and attempted to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Wilson and was controlled by King.

The forward passed the ball off to Welsh midfield player Wilson, who curled a shot into the net from the touchline measured at thirty-six point six yards.

Moments later when the ball came to Vicario once more, a number of Tottenham fans jeered him.

Spurs were booed off at the interval, with the club 2-0 behind, and once more at full-time.

One of those jeering episodes really irritated Frank.

"It came to my attention a few of our fans apparently booed the situation and jeered following, which, in my opinion is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager stated regarding the supporters' response to his goalkeeper.

"Those individuals cannot be real Spurs fans that do that. Alright jeering following the game, no problem, but when we are playing, we are backing each other, we are behind one another going forward."

Kenny Tete had handed the visitors a early advantage before Wilson's strike – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Spurs in an improved second-half showing.

Ex- top-flight goalkeeper Hart remarked that the next goal was "completely avoidable".

"I do appreciate the supporters' frustration," the ex-keeper added. "I am aware the role Vicario is performing. He is a excellent team player, he is a real figure in the dressing room but ultimately you are going to be judged by your decisions.

"He was deeply implicated in what turned out to be the winning goal."

'It's In the Game, I'm a Big Man'

Italian national team the keeper is in his third campaign with Tottenham.

The 29-year-old said following the match that he had to take the feedback.

"The second goal was a error of my own, I take accountability for that," he commented.

"My aim was to clear the ball long and I just hit the ball in a bad way. That made an even bigger mountain to climb."

He stated being booed "comes with the game".

"I am mature, what can I say?" he added. "We cannot be affected by the situation in the stands. The fans have the right to do what they think.

"It is on the team to remain more composed, to focus on our own performance. The team is lacking in calmness and poise to reverse outcomes. Today is a bad defeat and it's hard to take."

'It Shocked Me No One Went Back to the Goal Line'

In spite of Vicario's mistake, it was not an easy score for Harry Wilson to convert.

Actually it was the second most distant Premier League score of the campaign – after Tyler Adams' 43.3 yard goal for Bournemouth against Sunderland, which incidentally too occurred on the same day.

The goalscorer said he was "somewhat surprised" that he still had an empty net to target.

"I felt like the goalkeeper was out of the area for a long time," he said.

"I was surprised none of the defenders returned to the line. When not one of them covered the goal, my interest lit up somewhat.

"[Destiny] Udogie fell too, which allowed me a bit of extra opportunity. After that it was solely about attempting to make the right contact and get it on target. I had a good sense, the moment it came off my boot, that it was heading in."

'When You're in a Poor Run, All Appears to Go Against You'

Although the keeper's error dominated coverage, this was an all-round poor performance for Tottenham to continue their home woes.

This was their tenth home loss of the year in the league, a shared club record matching nineteen ninety-four and 2003.

They still have home fixtures against Frank's old side Brentford and champions Liverpool to come prior to the close of the year.

Only one of those wins have occurred since Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.

"When you're down 2-0 after the opening, there is a huge challenge to climb," stated the boss.

"When you're in a poor run, everything seems to go against you as well – the first was a deflected shot, the next is a mistake from the keeper.

"This result puts us in a position where we have lost an additional game. Every game has a unique narrative, this game we lost in the first six minutes.

"We simply need to continue striving. The later period was much better and with luck an aspect we can utilize to learn."

Tottenham have lost 4 consecutive at home London derbies for the first time in the top division.

And they are recording nine point five attempts and 3.2 efforts on goal per game in the Premier League – their poorest averages on file in a single season (dating back to 2003-04).
