The Streaming Giant Casts Ideal Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3
The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t take place until season 3, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that role re-envisioned as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the initial comic and animated series.
Escola will work alongside several other recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to life, such as head Mr. 0, portrayed by the well-known actor, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual will be introduced in One Piece season 3. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a significant shift in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
