Performer Rejects Anti-Vax Views Following Lending His Voice To Disputed Pandemic Film
The acclaimed actor has given his voice to a new documentary that challenges the legitimacy of immunizations and lauds ex- health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Basis
Called "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a popular book written by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for allegations that the illness was caused by a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.
The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has penned books with far-right radio host the Infowars host. Heckenlively took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the documentary.
A Firm Rebuttal
The team of Neeson have provided a comment firmly refuting implications that he supports anti-vax sentiments.
"Everyone can recognize that misconduct might be present within the drug industry, but that should never be equated to opposition to vaccines," the response explains. "He never has been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His extensive work with the global charity reinforces his consistent support for public-health initiatives."
The statement noted that the actor did not shape the film's messaging and that questions about its content should be directed to the producers.
Central Assertions Featured in the Documentary
According to the documentary, the voiceover provided by Neeson includes several provocative statements:
- It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to government bodies.
- It declares that "research has become dangerously politicised."
- Kennedy is shown claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not adequately tested."
- The narration also criticizes stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Concerning Covid vaccines, it mentions a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Controversy and Ongoing Debates
The documentary includes a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a formal apology by the corporation for violations of guidelines.
Recently, the political figure called on the Centers for Disease Control to change its official position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the film, despite a fresh analysis from the WHO stating no such link has been found.
A Previous Record of Support
Differing from the film's message, Neeson has in the past expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible human success story," adding that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This marks not the finish of our story. It is the dawn of a new chapter."
