Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
